How to Make Syrian “Toumya” (Garlic Sauce) at Home:

Toumya is one of the most popular types of sauces served alongside grilled dishes,

First: How to Make “Toumya” Without Eggs:

Ingredients:-

 

2 tablespoons starch

1 cup water

2 tablespoons mayonnaise

1 cup yogurt

4 cloves garlic, crushed

1 cup vegetable oil

1 teaspoon lemon juice

1 tablespoon vinegar

Salt

Cumin

Black pepper

 

These quantities serve four people (for example), and can be multiplied according to the desired amount

 

Steps to Make “Toumya”:

 

First: Place the starch and water in a pot and stir well until dissolved,

Place the pot on the heat for 3 minutes, stirring continuously until the mixture thickens, then remove from heat and let it cool.

Then in a blender, add the previous mixture along with the vinegar, lemon, chopped garlic, mayonnaise, yogurt, salt, and spices, and blend well

Gradually add the oil in a thin stream while the blender is running,

until the mixture is well combined and reaches the desired creamy consistency.

1 cup oil

 

Steps:

 

Prepare the blender and add the egg whites, garlic, and vinegar, then blend well

Add salt and pepper and blend again

Gradually add the oil while the blender is running until the mixture thickens and reaches the desired creamy consistency and is ready to serve
