Google Reveals Tools to Detect AI-Generated Content

Google has announced an expansion of its tools for detecting AI-generated content, with the goal of helping users distinguish between real images and videos and content created using artificial intelligence technologies.

New Tools Inside Search and Chrome

Google revealed at Google I/O 2026 that SynthID technology will be integrated into the Search engine and the Chrome browser, allowing users to easily check images and videos to determine whether they were generated by AI.

Inspecting Images via Lens and Circle to Search

In addition, users can now use tools such as Google Lens and the Circle to Search feature to directly query the source of an image and receive information clarifying whether it has been edited or created using AI tools.

How Does the Technology Work?

The system relies on the Gemini model to analyze metadata within files — such as camera information, editing software, and the AI technologies used. The technology also draws on the global C2PA standard for authenticating digital content and enhancing transparency.

Broad Partnerships to Combat Deepfakes

On another front, Google has expanded its partnerships with major companies such as OpenAI, NVIDIA, Canva, and Shutterstock, with the aim of developing tools that help detect synthetic content before it spreads across the internet or social media platforms.

Supporting Authentic Content

In an additional step, Google announced a collaboration with Meta to add signals indicating that photos and videos published via Instagram from Pixel phones are authentic and not AI-generated. In a rapidly evolving digital world, the impact of these innovations extends from following Arabic websites and specialized blogs, alongside what is offered by Egyptian stores and Kuwaiti stores and vitamin stores and international websites, with reliance on Mashhor for social media services as a key factor for success and continuity.
