Ehsan Islamic App: Quran, Prayer Times and Qibla Direction Offline

You arrive at a hotel in a city you've never visited, and Asr is close. You don't know the exact prayer time here, you don't know which way the Qibla is from this room, and the hotel Wi-Fi is slow or not working at all.
There are everyday moments like it too: wanting to read your daily portion of the Quran during a work break, or remembering the evening adhkar on the way home. That's why the Ezznology team built Ehsan, an offline Islamic app that brings together the Holy Quran, prayer times, Qibla direction and adhkar in one place.
In short: Ehsan is a free Android Islamic app with the complete Quran in fully vowelized text and color-coded tajweed, recitations by a number of reciters, prayer times with Adhan and Iqama reminders, a Qibla compass, and morning and evening adhkar and supplications. It works without internet, is light on your phone, and suits any Muslim looking for a daily companion for worship.

A Quran app with clear script and color-coded tajweed
The Quran section is the heart of the app. You browse the complete Mushaf in a clear script with fully vowelized Arabic text, and pages follow the Madani Mushaf layout many people are used to, so each verse sits where you expect it on the page.
For anyone learning the rules of recitation, color-coded tajweed is a practical aid: the rules appear in distinct colors within the text, making it easier to notice ghunnah, madd and other rules as you read.
Listening, bookmarks and reading themes
- Listening: recitations by a number of reciters.
- Bookmarks: save your place and pick up later, so the page doesn't get lost between your morning and evening reading.
- Reading themes: day, paper, night and more. Night mode is easy on the eyes for late-night prayer or reading before sleep, while paper feels closer to a printed Mushaf.

Prayer times for your city, with Adhan alerts
Ehsan shows the times of the five daily prayers and detects your location automatically via GPS. If you prefer to choose manually, there's a comprehensive list including cities in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and elsewhere.
Because calculation methods differ between countries, the app lets you choose the one used where you live, including the Muslim World League, Umm Al-Qura, the Egyptian method and others. The right method keeps times in line with your local mosques.
You also get reminder notifications for Adhan and Iqama, useful when you're busy at work or in a meeting and can't hear the call to prayer from the mosque.
Qibla direction by compass, even offline
Back to that hotel room. Ehsan's Qibla compass shows the direction wherever you are, works without an internet connection, and has a simple interface that needs no explanation. Open it, hold the phone flat, and follow the pointer.
A small tip: keep the phone away from metal objects and magnets when using the compass, since they can affect the phone's sensor in any compass app.
Morning and evening adhkar and supplications
The adhkar section is arranged around daily needs:
- Morning and evening adhkar
- Adhkar after prayer
- Supplications from the Quran
- Supplications for different occasions
After Fajr, for example, you can move from post-prayer adhkar to the morning adhkar in seconds.

A day with Ehsan
Before Fajr, the Adhan reminder arrives, then the Iqama. After prayer you open the post-prayer adhkar, then the morning ones. On your lunch break the Mushaf opens at yesterday's bookmark. Visiting a relative in another city that evening, you check the Qibla without asking for the Wi-Fi password. Before bed, you read in night mode.
Who is Ehsan for?
- Travelers and expats: prayer times based on location and a Qibla compass that works offline.
- Employees and students: Adhan and Iqama reminders in a busy day, and a bookmarked daily Quran portion.
- Tajweed learners: vowelized text with color-coded rules.
- Older users: clear script, a simple Arabic interface and eye-friendly themes.
Tips for better use
- Choose your country's prayer calculation method in settings first.
- Allow notifications so Adhan and Iqama reminders reach you.
- Add a bookmark every time you stop reading.
- Try the different themes and pick what's comfortable for your eyes day and night.
